Seminar on Adjudication of Civil Intellectual Property Infringement Cases

On September 23-24, at the hotel ‘Hilton Batumi’, with support of the Commercial Law Development Program of the U.S. Department of Commerce, seminar on ‘Adjudication of Civil Intellectual Property Infringement Cases’ is being conducted.

Hon. Virginia M. Hernandez Covington – judge at U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida and Hon. Bernice B. Donald – Judge at U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit are invited as experts to the training.

Partner organizations of the event are National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – ‘Sakpatenti’ and Georgian Copyright Association.

At the opening session of the seminar, participants were welcomed by the Director of the High School of Justice – Lasha Maghradze; representative of the Commercial Law Development Program of the U.S. Department of Commerce – Yazd Arezo; Head of Legal and International Affairs Department – Manana Pruidze and Head of Georgian Copyright Association – Giga Kobaladze.

During the event, Georgian judges will have an opportunity to share experience of the Unites States with regard to the protection of Intellectual Property.

27 judges are participating in the ongoing seminar, which is envisaged under In-service Training Program 2017 for Judges and other Court Staff.
