On 14-15 June 2018, in the framework of the EU supported project – “Strengthening Judicial Training through Twinning”, the Director of the High School of Justice (HSoJ) – Mr. Lasha Maghradze and the Deputy Director of the school – Ms. Ketevan Kvinikadze participated in the General Assembly of the EJTN which was held in Bulgaria, the city of Varna. The event was hosted by Bulgarian judicial training institution.
The vision of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) is to help foster a common legal and judicial European culture by strong cooperation between judges and other lawyers across Europe.The members of the EJTN are judicial institutions established in EU states. Membership with an observer status might be granted by the General Assembly to the judicial institutions established only in the countries in the process of accession to the EU. The case of Georgia was an exception and in 2014 the General Assembly of the EJTN has unanimously accepted the HSoJ as an observer member.
On the General Assembly, which had more than 100 delegates, the HSoJ continued consultations with the Secretary General and representatives of the member states of the organization on the topic of increasing thesupportandfundsallocatedfrom EU to observer institutions.
