On July 13 and 14, with support of U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) the HSoJ organized the training for judges on European Convention on Human Rights and its Application in Hotel Ambasadori in Kakheti.
The training was conducted by the expert of European Human Rights – Nana Mtchedlidze.
Within the framework of the training the participants discussed the following issues: the European Convention on Human Rights; Decisions of the European Court of Human Rights; the Right to Liberty and Security; Lawfulness of Detention; Justification Grounds for Detention and Bail, the Right to a Fair Trial; Admissibility of Evidence and Standards of Justification of Sentence.
13 judges participated in the training from Tbilisi Court of Appeals, Tbilisi and Rustavi City Courts and Akhaltsikhe Regional Courts.
The training was envisaged by the Training Program 2015 for Sitting Judges and other Court Staff.
