International Standards on Human Rights Protection

On October 6 and , with support of UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) the training on “International Standards on Human Rights Protection” was organized for judges at the High School of Justice.
The training was conducted by the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the Council of Europe - Konstantin Korkelia.
Within the framework of the training, participants discussed the following issues: under International Law of Human Rights: United Nations and Council of Europe; the role of judges in the implementation of International Human Rights Standards; European Human Right Standards and their application in Georgian practice; Right to Respect for Private and Family Life; Freedom of Religion; Protection of children’s Rights: International Standards, Georgian legislation and case study. 
11 judges participated in the training from Tbilisi Court of Appeals, Batumi, Photi, Kutaisi and Rustavi City Courts, Senaki, Khelvachauri, Samtredia and Ozurgeti Regional Courts. 
The training was envisaged by the Training Program 2015 for Sitting Judges and othet Court Staff.
