On October 28 and 29, training on “Trafficking in Humans; Effective Protection of Victims of Trafficking, Especially Children” was organized for judges at the High School of Justice.
The training was organized with support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The training was conducted by Paata Silagadze, judge at Supreme Court of Georgia and Ketevan Khutsishvili, EU Delegation Justice and Security Program Manager.
Under the framework of the training the participants discussed the following issues: Trafficking in Humans: Punishable action under the criminal law and its comparison with the smuggling of migrants; importance of Judicial cooperation in criminal matters in cases related to human trafficking, stages of the crime of human trafficking, fight against trafficking in humans; State Fund for Protection and Assistance of Statutory Victims of Human Trafficking; international monitoring carried out in Georgia against human trafficking and its importance.
The training was envisaged by the Training Program 2015 for Sitting Judges and othet Court Staff.
