On 24-25 and 26-27 February, with the support of the High School of Justice and the Project -Promoting Rule of Law in Georgia (PROLOG), two training sessions were conducted for judges and assistant judges on Enhancing Justice through Gender Equality.
Patricia Noonan, a rule of law expert - Democracy, Human Rights and Governance, Tamar Alania, a judge of Tbilisi court of Appeal and Diana Berekashvili, a judge of Tbilisi City Court were invited as experts to the seminar.
In 2014, special curriculum was developed in gender equality at the initiative of the High School of Justice and with the support of partner organizations. The curriculum is being used intensively for the purpose of retraining judges and court officials.
It should be noted that the training module on gender equality developed by the High School of Justice and partner organizations and the ongoing cycle of trainings were recognized as the best practice by the Council of Europe Gender Equality Commission.
The training was envisaged by the 2016 In-Service Training Program of Judges and Court Staff.
